We focus on
Family/Couple therapy
Couple and family therapy is a form of psychotherapy that focuses on improving relationships and communication within couples and families. Its primary goal is to address the challenges and conflicts that arise between partners or family members by providing a safe and supportive environment for open dialogue. Through active participation and the guidance of a trained therapist, couples and families can gain insight into their dynamics, learn healthier ways to resolve conflicts, and enhance their overall emotional well-being. At Nirmaya, we employ various approaches to family therapy, aiming to help couples and families resolve their conflicts and build positive and meaningful relationships.
Supportive psychotherapy
Supportive psychotherapy is a therapeutic approach that focuses on providing emotional support, empathy, and encouragement to individuals facing various challenges or difficulties. Its primary goal is to strengthen the individual’s coping mechanisms, promote adaptive functioning, and enhance overall psychological well-being. At our practice, we offer supportive psychotherapy for clients experiencing depression and anxiety.
LGBTQ+ Counselling
We offer counseling to LGBTQ+ to help them explore their sexual orientation and support them in their gender transition process. We also support them to cope with mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, and discrimination-related stress. Our sessions with LGBTQ+ individuals aim at improving their overall well-being, self-acceptance, and empowerment
Geriatric counselling
With India’s ageing population, there is a growing need for counselling services tailored to the unique needs of older adults. It is an essential component of holistic elder care, addressing the unique emotional, psychological, and social needs of older individuals and their families. We provide counselling services to both older individuals and their caretakers that addresses issues related to ageing, and caregiving.
Life skills training for children and adolescents
Mental health services for children and adolescents
We extend our counselling and support services for a variety of mental health issues among children such as ADHD, learning disabilities, and behavioural problems. We have found that struggles with academic performance can often be linked to underlying mental health concerns. We work with both children and their parents to uncover and overcome these issues, in order to achieve better scholastic performance and overall well-being.
Tobacco cessation and deaddiction counselling
Tobacco cessation and deaddiction counselling aim to provide the necessary support for individuals in overcoming addiction to tobacco and other substances. Nirmaya provides a safe and non judgmental space for clients to openly share their struggles with tobacco or other substance abuse. We also provide appropriate referrals to other resources or healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
Workplace mental health interventions
We provide various mental health interventions for organizations and companies to promote employee well-being and create a psychologically healthy work environment. We conduct mental health awareness programmes, team building and stress management programmes, and training for managers and supervisors to recognize early signs of distress, and appropriately respond to mental health concerns of their employees.
Testimonials
We are married for six years and were having issues with each other for a long time, and we met with Maya on a friend’s recommendation. She was very empathetic and patient with us, and some of the sessions were very intense. Her sessions on communication really helped us to discuss our issues and concerns freely.
She took us through the disagreements and bitterness that we had over the years and helped us to leave that behind and move forward as a couple. Thanks to her, we are in a much better space in our relationship, and I recommend her as a great marriage counsellor.

I have struggled with my anxiety and low confidence issues since my teenage years; I noticed that eventually it also affected my marital life, that’s when I decided to go for therapy. I was always unsure that talking to a Counsellor would help but Maya is a great therapist! She made me feel comfortable instantly and we have worked through a number of things I dint even think of as contributing to my anxiety.I never felt pressured to open up, she made me feel at ease and listened without judgment. I can’t thank Maya enough for the help she has provided me over the last 6 months. I now know where to go if I ever need help. Thanks, Maya ❤️
